Gaylord O’Con is a Dallas, TX watercolor artist with “Signatures’ from Southwestern Watercolor Society, Texas Watercolor Society and Texas & Neighbors Society.

Gaylord has over 16 years’ experience painting with watercolors and water media on paper. His work hangs in private and corporate collections around the United States and Mexico. His artwork of composition, color, shadows and energy is displayed on this website.

Gaylord teaches beginners and intermediate artist the basics of watercolor with an emphasis on composition, freshness and confidence building with watercolors. Gaylord teaches how to do a good sketch to create a good painting with good composition which is the basics for a successful watercolor painting. Contact him by email or text if interested.

Gaylord provides watercolor art commissions for Individuals and Corporations. His residential paintings are used as gifts for family and friends. Gaylord is currently serving as a 2019-2020 Southwestern Watercolor Society (SWS) board member and SWS Paint Out Chairman. Gaylord served as President of SWS in the 2012-2013 term and as President in the 2017-2018 term. Other SWS positions held includes Assistant SWS Show chairman, SWS Newsletter (Scene) editor, and 1st Vice President / Programs 2 terms.

As the SWS Paint-Out Chairman for over 10 years he has headed up organized paint-outs with 20 to 40 artist in Texas cities such as Mineola, Glen Rose, Jefferson, Decatur, Granbury, Waxahachie, Denton, McKinney, Paris, Grand Saline, White Rock Lake, Sulphur Springs, Quitman, and the Wichita Mountains in OKC.
